Material Habitats is Jingwei Bu’s independent exhibitions and art performances incorporating everyday materials and objects.

In this art exhibitions, Bu utilises the everyday materials and items to make sculptures, installations and responsive art performances in the space she created into a pop-up gallery from a leasing domestic space. These encounters of everyday materials, new or used, draw our attention towards the poetic senses of the everyday.

She performed the process in the space with both fixed time and spontaneity. The space was open during the working days. The new materials and items were keeping adding, reducing or reorganised after a period of time.
